Maserati Royale

The Maserati Royale proved to be the swansong of the classic Maserati era. The last model to use the company’s venerable quad-cam V8 engine that could trace its lineage back to the 5000GT of the 1960s. Based on the Quattroporte Series 3, only 51 Royales were made between 1989 and 1991 and were enormously expensive.
Compared to the Quattroporte, the interior was much more luxurious, with high quality leather and briarwood, now including some picnic tables for rear passengers, complete with pewter goblets. New stainless steel hubcaps modernised the wheels and red crackle finish on the cam covers distinguished this from the humbler QP.
This particular car, finished in metallic gunmetal with black leather and grey carpet was one of only three cars imported to the UK for its first, titled, owner. For the last ten years however, its current owner has used it often but sparingly, mostly to transport him to polo matches. Even now, it only displays 50,000kms on the clock. His taste for traditional pursuits also manifests itself on the bonnet motif!
In very original and very good condition in all aspects, this car has been thoroughly serviced by us recently and for the last decade, including renewal of the cylinder head gaskets. It is of course the 4.9litre engine with torqueflite automatic transmission and, like all Royales, is left hand drive.
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an ultra rare Maserati from the end of the classic era which can only increase in value.
The car is newly MOT tested and serviced. The air conditioning has been topped up and she is ready to go. The price is £29,990.

Maserati Merak SS

This 1977 right hand drive Merak SS has a very special history, as it has been in the same family since 1979, having been bought at that time from its first owner by UK Maserati Club President Alex Fyshe.
Fastidiously maintained throughout the Fyshe family ownership (by us since the late 1980s) and used regularly on many Maserati Club events in the UK and abroad, this car still retains an incredible degree of originality and has never been restored. Even now, the mileage is only 35,000. The exterior is celeste blue, one of the best colours to bring out the beauty of the Merak shape. The interior is the rare blue velour, totally original down to the carpets and in excellent condition.
In recent years used less and less, the family now feels it is time to let the car go to another enthusiast. Currently MOT’d and ready for use, it does now require some paint and body repairs and other improvements but could easily be made into a perfect original example and is of course priced accordingly at £29,995.
For more information and a specification sheet, please contact Henry Fyshe on henryfyshe@gmail.com or telephone 07830 139905.

Maserati Merak SS

One of the last of the Merak SS models, this 1980 car is finished in Blu Sera with magnolia hide and is the subject of much recent work.
Imported from South Africa a few years ago, the car had been subject of a body and engine restoration before we saw it. However, the current owner engaged us last year to carry out a mechanical sort out to make the car usable and this, together with re-trimming the seats and door panels in new hide, we have now done.
South African imports benefit from a distinct lack of corrosion when compared to Northern European cars and this is no exception. It would benefit from some further mechanical sorting but is an excellent basis to make a very good car and is currently MOT tested and on the button.
Recorded mileage is very low at 38,000, the car is original right hand drive and in a very popular colour scheme.
For sale by its private owner, Will Freeborough, the price is £33,000. Please contact:

Maserati Bora

A 4.9 litre Bora in left hand drive US specification, this very original example is now for sale by its private owner. It’s not getting enough use he says. Indeed the odometer only shows 43,000 miles.
Unlike the later exports with the enormous rubber impact bumpers, these early cars were much closer to the European specification and could be completely Europeanised if desired. The current owner however, has chosen to maintain the car’s amazing originality.

The original exterior colour of Verde Pino is rare these days, especially when combined with ivory leather and grey carpets and while there is definitely a patina to the interior and paintwork, the structure of the car is very healthy.

Maintained by us for many years since imported to the UK in 1990, the car is mechanically sorted, drives well and is ‘on the button’ with current MOT etc. It has also been featured in Auto Italia magazine, fairing well when pitted against a De Tomaso Pantera and Ferrari 512BBi.

It is rare to find such a combination of usability and originality and is surely a shrewd investment for the future. The price is £65,000.

Maserati Biturbo

What a timewarp! This is a very early example of the original Maserati Biturbo in light metallic green with cord interior. This has the early home-market features of left hand drive, 2.0litre engine, carburettor and dog-leg gearbox and shows only 75,000kms, which while unwarranted would appear genuine looking at condition and history. Both the interior and the engine bay are immaculate!

Delivered new in Turin in August 1982 (this is a first series car with a CB chassis number), it has quite a few stamps in the original service book for dealers around Turin but must have come to the UK in around 1999 as the Italian tax on the windscreen runs out then. It has been mostly in storage in the UK since then, although there is an MOT from 2004.

We have since done enough work on the car to get and have obtained a new MOT test and we do have the Italian Targa document to aid registration in the UK. This car is really a project as it requires some paint and bodywork, though is essentially sound. It also requires some further engine work to make it reliable.

It can’t be long now before the few Biturbo cars left start to appreciate. This is a car that would reward some investment as it is incredibly original and could easily be made into one of the best.

Priced to sell at £2500.

Maserati Merak SS

From the mid-series of SS cars, this 1980 right hand drive Merak is a very beautiful example of one of Maseratis prettiest cars. This car has been known to us and serviced by us since the early 1990’s through the last five owners, each of whom has lavished attention on this car.

The car has never been restored and never needed it. The paintwork has however recently been refinished in the original Maserati red and is in very good condition. The interior is excellent with original black leather and carpets.

Mechanically we have recently completed some top end engine work and carburettor rebuild, and the car drives very well indeed. It now shows a total of 83,000 kms.

It is not often we can recommend a Merak but this is a good one!

This is a private sale by an enthusiastic owner who is a regular at Maserati club events. The price is £35,000. Please contact Roger Harrison on roger.harrison49@btinternet.com or 07721 075190.
